Tybee Island, Georgia, is an incredible place packed with exciting outdoor activities, delicious eats, and unique local finds. Whether you’re here for a quick getaway or an extended stay, we’ve put together a list of some must-visit spots and fun experiences to make the most of your time on the island!

Outdoor Adventures

Jaycee Park (North End)

A fantastic, family-friendly spot with something for everyone! This park offers a baseball field, soccer field, padded walking track, a partially covered playground, disc golf, pickleball and basketball courts, plus outdoor workout equipment—all free to use! There’s also a covered pavilion and an outdoor grilling area, making it a great place for a picnic.

Memorial Park (Central Tybee)

Located behind the Island Library (which hosts Toddler Time on Tuesdays at 11 AM), this park features a padded playground, a scenic bike path, basketball and tennis courts, and multiple covered pavilions with outdoor grilling stations.

Biking & Walking Trail Along Highway 80

Starting at Fort Pulaski, this 9-mile trail is perfect for biking and walking. Enjoy scenic bridges over creeks and waterways, with benches along the way to take in the views. Challenge yourself and see how far you can go!

Sunset Magic: Back River Sunsets

If you do nothing else, catch a sunset on the Back River! Inlet Point is a fantastic location with fewer crowds than Alley 3, but both spots, along with Fisherman’s Walk, offer spectacular sunset views.

Hidden Gem: Tybee Turtle Pond

If you’re within walking distance, don’t miss Turtle Pond! Hundreds of turtles swim up to greet visitors. To find it, head past the police station, walk past the townhouses, and follow the boardwalk over the pond. It may look private, but it’s public—and totally worth the visit!
